A fashion show whose collection is inspired by Gloria Vanderbilt, surely deserves to be on my favourite list of things. Yvan Mispelaere served one and only collection for la maison Francaise, but Oh Boy! What a collection! Fully charged with prints and embellished patchwork in a palette that looked as if it just popped out of a David Hicks interior design project, this collection of baby dolls and maxi long dresses is a constant reference for me. I loved it so much that I even bought one of their fabulous necklaces, cluttered with tiger eye and sequins on a bed of velvet and terrycloth. Watch it for yourself and feel the goosebumps like I do!

Julie Verhoeven
Julie is my favourite illustrator of all times, besides, I was lucky enough to have her as one of my teachers during one term at Central Saint Martins, where she explained us in her posh English accent, amongst other things, how hard and established the world of Arts and Fashion really is. She has a great energy and a little bit of a dizzy attitude that makes her a charming woman. With her peroxidize blonde curly bob and her smoky eyes, this English eccentric has worked not only for her college mate John Galliano, but with Martine Sitbon leading her to finally scored, during four seasons, the top position of head designer for the Italian house Gibó. She has collaborated with Nouvelle Vague doing their covers or with Louis Vuitton creating enchanting patchworks for their bags, but her most memorable work is the opening of her solo exhibition where she illustrated her favourite songs, such as `Heroes´(Bowie´s cover) or `Suzanne´from Leonard Cohen. With such a Curriculum Vitae is no wonder that Donatella has her artwork hanging from the leaving room of her Milanese apartment. This one is for you Miss Verhoeven!

Souvenirs
Souvenirs are a great thing to refresh your memory from those fabulous days during your vacation or to remind you that you were somewhere gorgeous for a change! Well...But there are two different kind of souvenirs, ones are the kitsch and funny ones, like for instance a Flamenco plastic doll from Spain or a plastic mini Taj Majal from India, but these are not the type I am talking about. Wandering around Paris I took some pictures that will still mesmerize me and will help me keep on going, for those cloudy and boring days! If not judge for yourself and check the photos above. Where else in the world will you find a skull with butterflies, a Macedonian bust head or a cluttered snow Palais Royal with apricot skies...

Paris
It is my favourite city in the whole wide world and luckily I am off today to enjoy" la vie en rose" under the city of thousands lights! I will be away for a whole week, that is why I could not be loading more posts until I come back to reality, with a depression of a post partum mother, which is only natural after the joie de vivre of a vibrant and gorgeous city plagued with stunning individuals and majestic architecture! Au revoir mes cherés lecteurs!

Ryan O´neal
A blonde hearthrob born in L.A, Patrick Ryan O´Neal makes my heart beat like a locomotion, but only while watching his early films...I mean, who has not fallen in love with Oliver Barret in `Love Story´ seeing yourself as a perfect Ali Mc Graw that will match perfectly with a blonde hunk like Ryan, or who has not fell for him in `What´s up doc?´where his geeky look and his perfect built and attractive face makes such an explosive combo. Now at 68, his current way of living is a disaster, but Ryan was, without a doubt a young talent with an incredibly all American boy look! No wonder he managed to date the girlfriend of America and passed away actress Farrah Fawcett, for a match made in heaven or in Hollywood instead!

Inez and Vinoodh
An image is worth more than a thousand words...Well then if I have to have an image taken I want it to be worth the same, therefore I will ask my favourite pair of photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin to have my picture taken. The Dutch couple, are not only attractive but have a clinical eye for beauty. Famous is their work for Björk and her cover of `Vespertine´, or the ad campaigns of Balenciaga and Chloé, among others. Is no surprise that they value so much good aesthetics, since they are both Libras and, like me, we like to be surrounded and produce attractive to look at things, places or people. No wonder Cecilia Dean and James Kaliardos from Visionaire or Carine Roitfield and Emmanuelle Alt from Paris Vogue choose this dynamic duo for their glossy fashion spreads!

Kate Bush
Born in Kent in 1958, Catherine Bush is my favourite female vocalist, reigning on the first spot of a large list I own of my prefered singers. Discovered by David Gilmour she started her career at nineteen with the hit album `The kick inside´. Her fabulous voice and eccentric looks won over both the public and critics, allowing her to hit the top charts with `Wuthering heights´, which was clearly inspired by Emily Brontë´s classically romantic novel. My heart starts beating every time I hear her voice and I can listen to `Running up that hill´a thousand times non stop on a loop without getting bored or tired of it. Without big budget videos she managed to cause a big impact, if not pay attention to the video shown above, `Babooshka´, where a chelo and a veil is just enough to get a stunningly visual result. If you run to the nearest music store, I will solidly suggest to buy `The whole story´, a compilation of her greatest hits...Okay, okay... Or you can also simply download it from i-tunes or using Limemire for free and against the law downloads!

Maleficent
From all the villains kept in the classic archive of Walt Disney, Maleficent is my favourite naughty girl. She has an incredible bone structure that allows her to get away with evil horn hats. Her elongated figure and incredible cape makes her looked like she just came out of a Thierry Mugler fashion show. Her polished trimmed eyebrows and her prominent chin gives her that extra charisma that all evil queens need. If you are not sure of how you would look like on a fairytale, then this is for sure what is most convenient for you to look alike. Besides, who else would use a spindle in a curse, she is sooooo decadent!

Navy Blue
To be honest with you, Navy blue is my favourite colour from all the existing ones out there, without any second thought. It is such a classic, elegant and royal tone, that you will never get tired of it, even when I had it as my school uniform, I still continue in love with this colour! It is no wonder that different people like Joni Mitchel or Calvin Harris dedicated a song to this shade of blue, or artists such as Rothko or Picasso had a whole period of their work focusing on it and its variations. The deep blue ocean, Pantone 19-3933TPX and sailor stripes(previously mentioned in this blog) are also a few of the reasons why you should fall for this colour. Whenever you are feeling blue...Think of Navy blue!
